Blue Hose Finish Seventh at Elon Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team posted a season-best 297 to finish in seventh place on Tuesday at the Elon Invitational. The Blue Hose were led on Tuesday by freshman Mariana Polakova who posted an even par round of 71 at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C… Polakova finished in a tie for ninth to pace the Blue Hose for the tournament.

Elon won the team title for the event with a total score of -2 (850) for the tournament. The Phoenix's Ashley Lafontaine won the individual title on Tuesday with a two-under par score of 211 after shooting 68 (-3) in her final round.

Notables

Freshman Mariana Polakova tallied a final round of even par (71) highlighted by four birdies. The Brno, Czech Republic native posted a one-under round on her inward nine. Polakova finished in a tie for ninth with a score of 218.
Polakova finished tied for fourth among all competitors for the week with nine birdies including her four on Tuesday.
The Blue Hose freshman tallied the first top 10 finish by a PC individual since 2019 when Julie Hillestad finished in a tie for sixth at the Terrier Intercollegiate.
Sarah Boteler recorded a final round 73 highlighted by three birdies in a four-hole stretch. She posted a one-under score on her inward nine and finished the event in 13th with a score of 222.
Boteler's 222 overall score marked a career-low for a 54-hole tournament for the Greenville, S.C. native.
Freshman Taylor Reaves posted a career-low on Tuesday as Reaves finished with a three-over round of 74. She tallied a birdie to go along with 13 pars in the round. Reaves finished in a tie for 35th in the tournament with a score of 232.
Lextyn Petz finished her final round with a 79. She tallied a pair of birdies on her inward nine and finished the tournament tied for 45th with a score of 236.
Sofia Carles finished the event with a 79 on Tuesday. She added a birdie on her second to last hole on the round. Carles finished in 53rd with a score of 241.
The Blue Hose finished in a tie for fourth as a team with 27 birdies for the tournament led by Polakova with her nine birdies.
