Presbyterian defeated The Citadel, 71-64, in the Templeton Center this past Monday. Four PC players scored in double-figures led by Marquis Barnett's 20 points. Barnett also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked five shots. Crosby James scored 14 points while shooting 5-for-6 from the field. Kaleb Scott added 11 points and Samage Teel rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points. The Blue Hose defense limited The Citadel to 31 percent shooting from the field and 18.2 percent shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

REGULAR-SEASON TOURNAMENTS - The Presbyterian Blue Hose play in the three-game First Coast Classic at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla., November 16-18. Presbyterian plays North Florida, Maine, and Northwestern State in the First Coast Classic. The tournament games mark the first time that Presbyterian has ever played North Florida, Maine, and Northwestern State.

This marks the third consecutive season that the Blue Hose have played in a tournament in November. The First Coast Classic is the 12th regular-season tournament that PC has played in since moving to Division I in 2007-08. In the 2021-22 season, the Blue Hose claimed the University of New Orleans Classic title with wins over New Orleans, VMI, and Central Arkansas.

POWER FIVE WINS - Presbyterian began the season with a 68-62 win over SEC foe Vanderbilt on the road (November 7). This marks the third time in the program's history that Presbyterian has defeated a Power Five team. In the 2010-11 season, Presbyterian defeated Auburn (December 18), 62-59, and Wake Forest (December 21), 66-64.  In the 2011-12 season, Presbyterian defeated Cincinnati (November 19), 56-54, on the road. Cincinnati is now a member of the Big 12 but when the Blue Hose defeated them in the 2011-12 season, the Bearcats were not a member of a Power Five league.

REACHING THE CENTURY MARK - Presbyterian scored 100 points in their 100-58 win over CIU (November 9). What is even more remarkable about that is the Blue Hose scored 91 points over the final 30 minutes of the game. The last time Presbyterian scored 100 points was in a 106-59 win over UNC Asheville on March 5, 2019.

BLUE HOSE DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS - Over the first three games, Presbyterian has already had seven different players score in double-figures. Teel (two times), Scott (two times), Barnett (two times), James (two times), Jamahri Harvey (once), Trevon Reddish-Rhone (once), and Carl Parrish (once) have all tallied double-digit scoring games this season.

PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.

HOME OPENER – With the 100-58 win over CIU (November 9), Presbyterian moved to 15-1 in their home opening game while a member of Division I

WINNING SEASON OPENER – With the 68-62 win over Vanderbilt (November 7), the Blue Hose have now won their season-opening game for the second straight season and for the fourth time in Presbyterian's Division I era. The Blue Hose won their season-opening game in the 2011-12, 2016-17, 2022-23, and 2023-24 seasons.

ITALY TRIP – This summer, Presbyterian took a nine-day trip to Italy, August 1-9,. The Blue Hose visited Rome, Florence, and Milan while playing a couple of exhibition games. During the trip, the Blue Hose visited several historic sites: the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum in Rome; and the David statue in the Accademia Gallery in Florence. While today was the first official practice for the 2023-24 season, in preparation for the trip to Italy, Presbyterian was allowed to have 10 full-team practices leading up to the team's departure.
