Tanner Smith made the All-Big South Preseason team for their performances last season. The Blue Hose were picked sixth by the league's coaches in the Big South Preseason Poll.

BRODY FAHR
Last season, Fahr was named to the second-team all-conference as an infielder where he capped off one of the best seasons in the Blue Hose DI program history. As a junior, this shortstop posted a .361 batting average to finish third in the single-season DI record book as it marks the highest average for a PC player since 2015. He also led the team in on-base percentage (.452), hits (73), triples (3) and total bases (103). The Greer, S.C. native finished with a team-high 23 multi-hit games including a pair of four-hit contests coming against Georgia and Longwood. He scored 35 runs while knocking 34 and adding five steals to his impressive stat line. Fahr tallied nine games with multiple RBIs throughout the season with a season-high three coming against Georgia State, Miami (Fla.) and High Point. His .361 average overall in 2023 ranked fourth in the conference while also sitting fourth in the Big South in hits with 73.

TANNER SMITH
Last season, Smith earned an honorable mention award from the league's coaches for his performance. Smith tallied a team-high 27 appearances in the 2023 campaign as he totaled a league-high eight saves with six of those coming against league opponents. He finished in a tie for third in the DI record book for saves in a season with eight. Smith led non-starters with 53 punchouts over his 27 outings. He earned a pair of Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week honors with the first coming after his 3.2 shutout innings in a victory over High Point after a perfect inning against #16 South Carolina. He garnered his second straight honor the following week with a pair of saves over Charleston Southern. The pair of Big South honors came in a stretch where Smith held opponents without an earned run, lowering his ERA down to 0.95. He earned his lone win of 2023 against UNC Asheville totaling three scoreless frames and six strikeouts to get the victory. He didn't allow an earned run in 18 outings and tallied multiple strikeouts in 17 appearances throughout 2023.
