PC Men’s Wrestling Reveals 2024-25 Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – Turning the page to their sixth season in program history, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling squad has announced their full 14-match schedule for the upcoming campaign.

The Blue Hose are set to begin the 2024-25 journey next Sunday inside Templeton Gymnasium, starting off a season at home for the first time since starting the program in 2019.

Interestingly, PC's layout underneath head coach Mark Cody is devoid of any tournaments, favoring duals from start to finish.

Presby hopes to build on a three-win trek last spring, kicking off the season on Sunday against one of their victims from a year ago when Sacred Heart visits Clinton.

The garnet and blue remain in the Southern Conference along with eight other schools, wasting little time in wrestling their first league opponent (November 17).

Coach Cody's gang is comprised of 25 student-athletes, 18 of which are returners. Presbyterian figures to sport six grapplers who competed in regular SoCon matches last year, including 184-pounder Caleb Roe who finished in 4th place at the league tourney.

MWR Schedule 24-25

NOVEMBER

- A 1:00 PM date with Sacred Heart will officially unscrew the lid off the regular season in six days, as the Blue Hose look to repeat a 29-21 win against the Pioneers at a neutral venue in their last encounter.

- PC will stay in Templeton two weeks after the season-opener for an ultra-early SoCon meeting, welcoming Davidson for a 3:00 beginning.

- On Saturday, November 23, the Scotsmen will hit the road for the first time when traveling to Duke University for a tri-dual in Durham.

- It'll be a triple threat when Presby faces the Blue Devils, also tangling with Utah Valley and American University on that same day.

JANUARY

- The Blue Hose will then settle into a lengthy break that spans the entire month of December, inactive for a period of 62 days until finally returning to the mats on January 24 in a special non-conference event.

- Coach Cody and company will host Air Force on that Friday afternoon, which will segue into a five-match SoCon series in the immediate aftermath.

- 48 hours after battling the Falcons, PC will engage in a back-to-back with The Citadel at home and Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina. On the final day of January, they'll be back in Templeton for a Friday night affair against Chattanooga.

FEBRUARY

- The meat of the SoCon schedule lingers into the next two matches, with Presbyterian traveling to Gardner-Webb and Campbell in a three-day sequence from February 7-9.

- The Fighting Camels were voted on by the league's coaches as the preseason favorite in the divisional poll, boasting five of the ten All-Conference projections and receiving all but one first-place pick.

- Two of the final three regular season clashes will be held in PC's backyard, facing Truett McConnell in the non-con finale (February 12). From there, Coach Cody's group will line up against Bellarmine in what will be just the second-ever visit to Clinton by the Knights.

- February 20 will denote the last dual before the conference bracket, with the Blue Hose heading for VMI at seven o'clock.

POSTSEASON

- The SoCon Championships will be spread out over a two-day period at a location to be determined from March 7-8, with one wrestler from each school representing all weight classes in 10 double-elimination tournaments.

- Should one or more PC wrestlers win 1st-place at the league tourney, they'll acquire an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, a larger field of opponents in Philadelphia.

- The National Title tourney will be carried out from March 20-22, signaling the end of a busy campaign.
