CLINTON, S.C. – Elyse Hutchinson of the Presbyterian College volleyball team has been named the Adidas/Game One Student-Athlete of the Week following her pivotal performance in the Blue Hose's crucial victory over Charleston Southern, a win that secured their place in the 2024 Big South Championship.
With the season on the line, Hutchinson delivered a clutch effort in Presbyterian's four-set triumph over the Buccaneers last Friday. She tallied seven kills without a single error, finishing with an impressive .500 hitting percentage. Hutchinson also contributed three blocks and three digs, further showcasing her all-around impact.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Hutchinson has been a cornerstone of Presbyterian's success this season. She is one of only three Blue Hose players to compete in all 27 matches and 105 sets during the 2024 campaign. Her season totals include 160 kills at an average of 1.52 kills per set and a .260 hitting percentage, ranking 10th in the Big South. Hutchinson has also served up five aces and established herself as a defensive force with 73 total blocks, the second-highest on the team.
Hutchinson's consistency and dominance in key moments make her a deserving recipient of this week's honor, reflecting her crucial role in the Blue Hose's march to the postseason.
