CLINTON, S.C. – Poised for a breakout season in the 174-pound weight class, junior
Reed Douglass of the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
After claiming a 20-5 technical fall in an extra-countable match versus Sacred Heart to start the campaign, Douglass earned a second-place medal at the Mountaineer Invitational over the weekend in Boone, North Carolina.
Plagued by injuries as both a freshman and sophomore, Douglass remains one of the most talented wrestlers on head coach
Mark Cody's roster, defeating two Southern Conference opponents in that App State bracket on Saturday.
A New York native, Reed started his path at ASU by knocking off Davidson's Bodie Morgan with a pin in four minutes and 28 seconds. That sent him to the 174-lb. semifinals, where he was again victorious over App State's Joe Zovistoski via 15-10 decision.
Douglass reached the championship match in Boone and was ultimately handed the silver prize, boosting his career win count to 12.
