CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball player's
Joel Dragoo,
Daniel Eagen, and
Tristan McGregor all earned Big South honors for their performances throughout the first week of the 2024 baseball season. Dragoo was awarded with Player of the Week, Eagen was named Starting Pitcher of the Week, and McGregor earned Freshman of the Week.

The Blue Hose swept their season opening series against the St. Peter's Peacocks last week with an impressive 4-0 record throughout the weekend. PC's home opener was on Friday, February 16 where they beat the Peacocks 10-2. The following day, the series continued with a double header containing two seven inning games. In the first game the Blue Hose won 16-6 before winning game number two 16-1. The final game of the series was played on that Sunday where Presby won 16-3.
Junior infielder
Joel Dragoo was named Big South Player of the Week after he recorded an impressive performance. Dragoo started in all four games where he totaled 12 at bats while leading the team with four home runs, 14 RBIs, 20 total bases, and a 1.667 SLG percentage. He also tallied eight runs on seven hits and a 5.83 batting average. Defensively, Dragoo was in center field where he fielded perfectly with four chances and four putouts. His efforts, including a home run in each game of the series, solidified his well-deserved recognition.

Junior pitcher
Daniel Eagen achieved Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week after he led off on the mound for the Blue Hose's season opener on Friday. He pitched for five innings where he allowed no earned runs, a .60 WHIP, and seven strikeouts. While facing 18 total batters, Eagen only allowed two hits, one unearned run, and just a single walk. The North Carolina native also held opposing batters to a .111 batting average during his five innings, showcasing his dominance on the mound.

In the third game of Presbyterian's four-game series, freshman pitcher
Tristan McGregor secured the Big South Freshman of the Week award with an impressive performance on the mound. Over 4.0 innings he posted a 2.25 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP while claiming his first win as a PC pitcher for the Blue Hose. Hailing from Florida, McGregor notched six strikeouts and limited batters to a .143 batting average, giving up just two hits and one run.
