CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (4-1) is set for a trio of home games this weekend. On Friday, February 23 PC faces the Canisius Golden Griffins at 4:00 p.m. The following day, the Saint Joseph's Hawks travel to Clinton for a game against the Blue Hose at 2:00 p.m. Presbyterian closes out the weekend with a game against the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Sunday, February 25 with a first pitch at noon.

ABOUT THE BLUE HOSE
• In Presbyterian's first five games so far, they have tallied a 4-1 record after sweeping St. Peter's in a four-game series and falling to No. 8 Clemson.
• The Blue Hose offense is led by returner
Brody Fahr who has tallied a .632 batting average this season. Fahr has also put up 12 hits, 12 RBIs, and nine runs.
•
Joel Dragoo returns as PC's top power threat as he tallied eight homers and 11 doubles a season ago. Already this year, Dragoo has hit four homeruns while batting at an average of .615. Over 13 at bats he has achieved eight hits, 15 RBIs, and eight runs.
• On the mound, Presbyterian returns five of its top six arms from last year led by
Kyle Mueller who went 6-1 with a 5.26 ERA in 21 appearances. Mueller tallied 32 strikeouts over 39.1 innings a season ago. PC also returns
Charlie McDaniel to the rotation as he also tallied four wins and struck out 57 opposing batters last season.
• In the bullpen,
Tanner Smith is the top relief arm that returns from a season ago. Smith saw action in 27 games with 53 strikeouts and eight saves.

Daniel Eagen started in PC's season opener against St. Peter's where he put up a .60 WHIP and eight strikeouts while holding the Peacocks to no earned runs allowed.
•
Charlie McDaniel has started on the mound in one game so far this year where he tallied a 3.38 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIFFINS
• Canisius has only played one game so far this season after their second two games against St. Joseph's were canceled. In the game that did occur, they fell to the Hawks 6-5.
• The Golden Griffins are under the direction of seventh year head coach Matt Mazurek who has been a part of the program for 18 years.
• Offensively, the Golden Griffins are led by graduate student Mike DeStefano who tallied a .800 batting average with four hits in his first game of the season. Junior Jackson Strong batted at .400 with two hits, two RBIs, and one homer.
• Junior RHP Peyton Consigli is predicted to start on the mound for the Golden Griffins. He pitched 3.2 innings earlier this season where he tallied a 4.91 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, and three strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph's has played one game so far this season where they beat St. Joseph's 6-5.
• The Hawks are led by head coach Fritz Hamburg who is in his 16
th year at the helm of the program.
• Senior Jakob Reed leads the team with a .600 batting average with one RBI and three hits. Senior Max Hitman put up a .500 batting average with two hits over four at bats.
• Sophomore LHP Ryan DeSanto is predicted to start against the Blue Hose on Saturday. Last season, he posted a 3.99 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and 74 strikeouts.

• Quinnipiac started off their season with three losses to Liberty last week.
• John Delaney is in his 10
th year as head coach of the Bobcats.
• On offense, first year infielder Kyle Garbowski leads the team with a .333 batting average after adding three hits, three RBIs, and a homerun. Sophomore outfielder Gabe Wright put up three hits, three runs, and two RBIs over his first three games this season.
• Sophomore RHP Aaron Zenus has pitched in one game so far this year where he tallied a 7.36 ERA, a 1.64 WHIP, and five strikeouts through his 3.2 innings pitched.

2024 PRESEASON HONORS
• Infielder
Brody Fahr and RHP
Tanner Smith were named to the league's preseason all-conference team as selected by the league's coaches.
• After his performance last season, Fahr was named to the second-team all-conference as an infielder where he capped off one of the best seasons in the Blue Hose DI program history.
• Smith earned an honorable mention award from the coaches around the league for his efforts last season.
• Smith was also named to the NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watchlist.

Daniel Eagen is the No. 1 Big South top prospect for the 2024 draft.

A LOOK AT THE 2024 SLATE
• The Presbyterian College baseball team announced its 2024 slate which features 29 home games at
Elton Pollock Field. The schedule also features five games against teams from the ACC and the SEC along with two matchups against teams from the 2023 NCAA tournament.
• Following another three-game homestand against Canisius, St, Joseph's, and Quinnipiac, PC will travel to Athens, Ga. for their first SEC matchup against the University of Georgia on February 27.
• Presbyterian finishes off the month at home with four games against St. Bonaventure from Feb. 29 – Mar. 2.
• After Western Michigan visits Clinton on March 5, PC will head to Memphis, TN for three more road games from March 8-10 against Jackson State, Memphis, and Butler.
• The Blue Hose then return to S.C. for a game in Charleston on March 12 against the Citadel.
• Their last home stretch of the month will be against George Washington University from March 15-17.
• Closing out the month with eight more games on the road, PC will once again face Clemson at Fluor Field on March 20 before opening up conference play with a three-game series at Longwood from March 22-24.
• A trip to the University of South Carolina will mark the second SEC matchup of the season on March 26.
• The Blue Hose close out March with a trip up to North Carolina to battle Gardner-Webb from March 28-30.
• In the month of April, after traveling to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia Tech, PC will spend a majority of their time at home with games against Radford (April 5-7), Western Carolina University (April 9), Winthrop (April 12-14), and USC Upstate (April 26-28).
• Presbyterian also has contests at Wofford (April 16) and High Point (April 19-21).
• PC will travel to Charleston, S.C. for a trio of games against Charleston Southern from May 3-5, before returning home for a game against Wofford on May 7.
• The Blue Hose will play against the Citadel in a three-game series, starting in Clinton on May 10-11 and then moving to Charleston, S.C. for the final game on May 12.
• The final road match of the regular season will be on May 14 against Western Carolina followed by the final home series against UNC Asheville from May 16-18.
• The 2024 Big South Baseball Tournament will be played at Truist Point in High Point, N.C. The four-team tournament will determine the Big South's automatic bid recipient to the NCAA Championship which will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 22-26.
