Blue Hose Fall Short in Tight Game Against Georgia

Box Score ATHENS, GA. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (5-4) lost a close game to the Georgia Bulldogs (8-0) despite hitting two home runs.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With Brody Fahr on base after being walked, Joel Dragoo hit one over the left field wall to score the first two runs of the game in the top of the first inning.
- The Bulldogs answered in the bottom of the first inning with a home run to get on the board. A walk with the bases loaded tied the game at 2 runs apiece going into the second inning.
- Noah Lebron hit a stand up double for the first hit of the third inning, but the score stayed tied after three full innings of play.
- The score stood at 2 runs each, until Georgia took a one run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- After a scoreless seventh inning, Fahr hit one way over the right field wall to tie the game up at three runs apiece.
- The Bulldogs took one run in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 4-3 lead before the start of the ninth inning.
- PC was unable to get another one on the board before the top of the ninth came to an end, resulting in a 4-3 loss to the Bulldogs.
 
NOTABLES
- Presbyterian used 10 different pitchers on the mound today.
- Dragoo tallied his sixth home run of the year in the top of the first inning.
- Brody Fahr hit his first home run of the season in the top of the eighth inning.
 
UP NEXT
The Blue Hose begin another four-game series at home starting on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. against St. Bonaventure.
