SoCon Wrestling Tournament to be Settled on Saturday in Boone

BOONE, N.C. – The 2023-24 regular season has been swiftly tossed to the wayside, making way for the Southern Conference tournament in North Carolina on Saturday. The Presbyterian College men's wrestling team looks to extend their campaign and send a Blue Hose to nationals for the first time, joining seven other schools in the league for the double-elimination bracket.

Hosted by last year's SoCon champion Appalachian State, the divisional tourney will officially begin at 10:00 AM with the Quarterfinal round. Semifinals are scheduled for noon, while the consolation side of the bracket kicks off at approximately 2:00 PM. Ten conference titles will then be given at 7:00 as the finals are contested.

An automatic ticket to the NCAA Championships will be given in the event of a 1st-place conference prize, with a to-be-determined number of at-large bids to be dished out as well.

Presbyterian and head coach Mark Cody will be going head-to-head with the finest that the SoCon has to offer, including 2024 regular season winner Campbell who boasts eight top-three seeds in Saturday's bracket and six # 1's.

Kansas City, Missouri will be the site of the National tournament (an event that begins on March 21), guaranteeing each weight class champion from the SoCon in a field that PC has yet to advance to. They'll hope to change that notion in 24 hours after closing the regular season with seven straight defeats.
