Blue Hose Travel to Atlanta for One Against the Yellow Jackets

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose went 2-1 in their series against Gardner-Webb last week. With Daniel Eagen starting on the mound for the Blue Hose, the team was able to secure the first win 6-2. Charlie McDaniel threw to start game two where PC won 7-1. The team increased their conference record to 4-2 keeping them tied for second in the division.

ABOUT THE BLUE HOSE
- PC has tallied a 13-15 record so far this season with wins over St. Peter's (x4), St. Joseph's, St. Bonaventure (x2), Jackson State, Memphis, Longwood (x2), and Gardner-Webb (x2).
- The team has recorded a .240 batting average and a 4.64 ERA.
Joel Dragoo leads the Blue Hose offense with a .380 batting average over his 92 at bats so far this season. He has tallied 35 hits, 26 runs, 36 RBIs, and a .728 slugging percentage (nine doubles, a triple, and seven home runs).
Brody Fahr plays a key role for the Blue Hose as well. He has put up a .368 batting average over his 95 at bats while earning 28 runs, 35 hits, 20 RBIs, and a .537 slugging percentage (seven doubles, three triples, and 1 homer).
- LHP Charlie McDaniel leads the team with his 1.49 ERA over his 42.1 innings pitched. He has also tallied 49 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .196 batting average.
- RHP Daniel Eagen has pitched for 27.2 innings while throwing for an impressive 51 strikeouts. He has totaled a 1.63 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP.
 
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
- Georgia Tech enters Tuesday's game with a 16-10 record with wins over Radford (x3), Georgia Southern, Cornell (x2), Georgia State (x2), Youngstown State (x4), Mercer, and NC State (x3). The team is currently on a six-game losing streak which they look to break against the Blue Hose.
- The team has recorded a batting average of .303 while pitching at a 5.69 ERA.
- Drew Burress leads the Yellow Jackets with his .370 batting average while putting up 37 hits, 33 runs, 37 RBIs, with 14 home runs on the year.
- Carson Ballard is projected to start on the mound for Georgia Tech. He has tallied a 2-2 record while throwing 17 strikeouts this season. He has totaled a 2.49 ERA over his 25.1 innings pitched.
- Georgia Tech is under the direction of head coach Danny Hall who is in his 31st year with the team.
 
PRESBYTERIAN – GEORGIA TECH SERIES
Tuesday will mark the eighth time that these two teams have faced off since Presbyterian joined Division I in 2008. The last time that these two teams met was in the 2022 season where the Yellow Jackets won 17-7. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series between the two teams 7-0.

BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
- The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball player's Joel DragooDaniel Eagen, and Tristan McGregor all earned Big South honors for their performances throughout the first week of the 2024 baseball season. Dragoo was awarded with Player of the Week, Eagen was named Starting Pitcher of the Week, and McGregor earned Freshman of the Week.
Tristan McGregor earned his second Big South Freshman of the Week award on March 4 following his efforts against St. Bonaventure.
- Daniel Eagen was named Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week after his performance in Presbyterian's 6-2 victory over Gardner-Webb on March 28. He pitched for 5.0 innings while throwing 11 strikeouts and holding batters to no runs and just one hit.
 
OPENING SERIES SWEEP
The Blue Hose swept their season opening four game series against the St. Peter's Peacocks. PC's home opener was on Friday, February 16 where they beat the Peacocks 10-2. The following day, the series continued with a double header containing two seven inning games. In the first game the Blue Hose won 16-6 before winning game number two 16-1. The final game of the series was played on that Sunday where Presby won 16-3.
 
2024 PRESEASON HONORS
- Infielder Brody Fahr and RHP Tanner Smith were named to the league's preseason all-conference team as selected by the league's coaches.
- After his performance last season, Fahr was named to the second-team all-conference as an infielder where he capped off one of the best seasons in the Blue Hose DI program history.
- Smith earned an honorable mention award from the coaches around the league for his efforts last season.
- Smith was also named to the NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watchlist.
Daniel Eagen is the No. 1 Big South top prospect for the 2024 draft.
 
NEWCOMERS JOIN THE BLUE HOSE FAMILY
- Head Coach Elton Pollock was busy in the offseason with the addition of 15 new faces to the Blue Hose family.

A LOOK AT THE 2024 SLATE
- In the month of April, after traveling to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia Tech, PC will spend a majority of their time at home with games against Radford (April 5-7), Western Carolina University (April 9), Winthrop (April 12-14), and USC Upstate (April 26-28).
- Presbyterian also has contests at Wofford (April 16) and High Point (April 19-21).
- PC will travel to Charleston, S.C. for a trio of games against Charleston Southern from May 3-5, before returning home for a game against Wofford on May 7.
- The Blue Hose will play against the Citadel in a three-game series, starting in Clinton on May 10-11 and then moving to Charleston, S.C. for the final game on May 12.
- The final road match of the regular season will be on May 14 against Western Carolina followed by the final home series against UNC Asheville from May 16-18.
- The 2024 Big South Baseball Tournament will be played at Truist Point in High Point, N.C. The four-team tournament will determine the Big South's automatic bid recipient to the NCAA Championship which will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 22-26.
