PC Loses a Close Game to Georgia Tech After 10 Innings

Box Score ATLANTA, GA. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (13-16) fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (17-10) despite two home runs and a close extra inning game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose started off strong in the top of the first inning as Jay Wetherington hit a single to right field as the leadoff hitter for Presbyterian. A single from Joel Dragoo put Wetherington in scoring position at third base. A walk drawn by Rhogue Wallace loaded the bases with just one out, setting the stage for Noah Lebron's clutch two-RBI single to center field, propelling Presby to an early 2-0 lead.
- Presbyterian's momentum continued into the second inning when Aaron Hobson got on base with a single before he was able to steal second base. Wetherington, batting for the second time, capitalized on the opportunity with a powerful two-run homer over the center field wall, extending the Blue Hose's lead to 4-0.
- Georgia Tech was able to pick up their first run of the night in the bottom of the second inning.
- With runners on second and third in the top of the third inning, Jackson Hugus hit a sacrifice fly to bring Wallace home, adding another run to their tally for a 5-1 advantage.
- Both teams exchanged runs over the next few innings, with Georgia Tech scoring in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, while Brody Fahr's base reach and Joel Dragoo's deep center field homer in the fourth inning helped Presbyterian maintain a comfortable 7-4 lead.
- In the sixth inning, Eli Lazio drew a walk before stealing second base to set up an RBI single for Wetherington, increasing their lead to 8-4.
- The Yellow Jackets scored one in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut Presbyterian's lead to a score of 8-5.
- After a scoreless next two innings, Georgia Tech scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings.
- The Blue Hose were unable to add to their score in the top of the 10th inning before Georgia Tech closed out the game with one in the bottom of the 10th.
