PRESBYTERIAN – USC UPSTATE SERIES
This weekend's series will mark the 36
th, 37
th, and 38
th times that these two teams will face off since Presbyterian joined Division I in 2008. Last season, Presbyterian won the first game of the series 10-6 before Upstate won the next two games. USC Upstate leads the all-time series between the two teams 21-14.
A RECORD BREAKING SEASON
-
Joel Dragoo leads the team with his 11 home runs on the season. His most recent dinger against Georgia State placed him tied for tenth in Presbyterian's record books for the most home runs in a single season.
- Dragoo is also just one double away from signing his name in the record book again. He has totaled 18 doubles so far this season and he will tie for ninth place all-time if he is able to get to 19.
- Another stat to look out for is the single season RBI records. Two PC alumni are tied for ninth place with 52 RBIs in one year, Dragoo is currently at 47 himself. We haven't seen a PC player enter this section of the record books since Weston Jackson took 55 RBIs in 2016.
-
Daniel Eagen has already taken the program's record for most strikeouts in a single game when he threw 14 punches against Winthrop earlier this season.
- Eagen has also put up an impressive 80 strikeouts this year which would place him eighth in the record books if the season were to end today. Richard Barkley holds the number one slot with his 99 strikeouts during the 2003 season.
-
Charlie McDaniel is also on track to put his name down as one of Presbyterian's most winningest pitchers of all-time. He currently holds a 6-1 record as the teams Saturday starter and needs seven wins to tie the single season record. Eight wins would place him tied for second, while 10 would tie for first place.
