Women’s Wrestling Announces 2025-26 Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – Perennial national-championship contenders, the preseason 5th-ranked Presbyterian College women's wrestling team has detailed their schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Reigning Southeast Region Coach of the Year Brian Vutianitis will lead his troops to the season-opening event on Saturday, November 1, a triple threat of duals against Allen, Newberry, and Huntingdon in Simpsonville.

Last spring, the Blue Hose finished sixth in the nation (the program's third top-ten placement in a row). Fourteen PC wrestlers qualified for Nationals as they captured the team title at Regionals.

Expectations are very large for Presbyterian this winter, a team that will feature prominently in the first season that women's wrestling will be an official NCAA sport.

Seven of Vutianitis' grapplers are ranked in the individual top ten of their respective weight class. None of those seven are seniors, all either in their third or second year of eligibility.

WWR Schedule

NOVEMBER

- #5 PC kicks off the new journey on the first day of November, going to Hillcrest High School for a four-way at 2:00 PM. The next weekend, they'll enter their first tournament of the season at Adrian College in Michigan.

- November 15 will be a major matchup for the Blue Hose, participating in the "Throwdown on the Yorktown" for the second straight year. They'll serve as one half of a marquee dual with defending national champs and preseason #1 Iowa.

- PC will wrestle the Hawkeyes on the USS Yorktown Battleship. They went up against Campbellsville on the naval ship last year and prevailed 23-21.

- Less than 24 hours after facing Iowa, the Scotsmen will make their first appearance at Templeton Gymnasium for the Blue Hose Challenge. They claimed eight 1st-place awards and five silver nods at this same tournament last year.

- Another high-profile dual will occur on Friday, November 21 as Presby welcomes King to Templeton.

DECEMBER + JANUARY

- PC will take on a lighter load in the month of December compared to previous seasons, traveling out west to Las Vegas for the Desert Duals (hosted by Wartburg) on the 17th.

- Six days before Christmas, the Blue Hose will go head-to-head with Frostburg State at a neutral site in Delaware, dubbed the "Beast of the East" dual.

- When the calendar flips to January, PC will go to Huntingdon for a series of four duals on the 3rd and a tournament on the 4th.

- That will prep the Blue Hose for the NWCA National Duals bracket on the 9th and 10th, held at the University of Northern Iowa against other highly-ranked opponents.

- Presbyterian will make their third and last home appearance on Sunday, January 18 with two duals in succession versus Allen and McMurry.

- From there, they'll visit Emmanuel for the Georgia Open in Franklin Springs and also pivot to the northeast for a January 30th encounter with Lehigh.

FEBRUARY + POSTSEASON

- The regular season finale is set for February 7, with the Blue Hose entering the Bobcat Open in Frostburg. PC placed four wrestlers in the top three at that particular tourney last time out.

- Coach V's crew aims for back-to-back Southeast Region championships on the 20th and 21st in a return to Emmanuel's campus. Wrestlers will hope to qualify for Nationals here, as four PC competitors took home gold at this tournament in 2025.

- The NCAA National Championships will return to Iowa in the early days of March, held in Coralville. Six Presbyterian wrestlers earned All-America status by placing in the national top ten, led by then-freshman Carina Giangeruso who nabbed 4th in class 138.
