CLINTON, S.C. – Ranked third in the country for her weight class and coming off her third career tournament championship 48 hours ago, sophomore
Carina Giangeruso of the #5 Presbyterian College women's wrestling team has been chosen as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
Finishing in 4
th place at Nationals last season to punctuate a phenomenal rookie year, Giangeruso has picked up where she left off thanks to a 1
st-place prize at the Adrian College Invite on Sunday.
The Blue Hose – winners of the Southeast Region title last season before placing 6
th as a team at Nationals – have opened the 2025-26 season with Giangeruso as their highest-ranked wrestler.

WIN % THROUGH THE ROOF
- Giangeruso was a focal point of Presbyterian's third-straight season with a top-six standing at Nationals, winning 87 percent of her matches during her freshman campaign.
- Last season alone, she won 18 times via technical fall and collected six pins. Giangeruso took home gold at the Regional bracket, leading her to Nationals where she narrowly missed a spot on the podium in a 4
th-place ending.
- Carina led the Blue Hose in total victories last winter, going on two separate 10-match winning streaks and starting off her career with 20 wins out of her first 22 opportunities.
GOLD AT ADRIAN
- Giangeruso was one of eight PC competitors to place in the top three at the Adrian tourney, going 4-0 with a couple tech's en route to the 138-pound trophy.
- Her last two wins came over opponents from North Central, the third-ranked team in America. She landed a 4-1 standard decision in the semifinals and followed that up with a 10-0 technical to win the championship.
- In four matches at Adrian, Giangeruso allowed her challenger to score just two combined points while securing 34 herself.
LOOKING AHEAD
- This weekend will be perhaps the biggest sequence in the month of November that PC women's wrestling has ever seen, headed to Charleston on Saturday for the "Throwdown on the Yorktown" event and then hosting the Blue Hose Challenge the next afternoon.
- Presby will wrestle on the USS Yorktown Battleship against the #1 Iowa Hawkeyes, before then finishing up the doubleheader versus Delaware State.
- On November 16, some of the most prominent programs in the U.S. will be in Templeton Gymnasium for the Blue Hose Challenge (starting at 10:00 AM).
GAME ONE
- The Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One – an official team dealer for Adidas – on a multi-year apparel agreement in the November of 2022. PC's partnership with Adidas began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
- Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
