CLINTON, S.C. – The first of seven home duals for the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team is set for the top of next week, as the Blue Hose welcome a west coast visitor located over 2,300 miles away.
PC will take on the Lancers of Cal Baptist this Monday at approximately 5:30, streamed live on ESPN+. It will be just the second dual of the year for the Scotsmen at this point, the first head-to-head meeting in a full month.
Spending the time in between the Campbell and Cal Baptist duals with brief tournament showings, head coach
Mark Cody's unit has a busy week ahead. After Monday's encounter, they'll stay in Templeton Gymnasium for a quad-dual on the 18
th where Davidson, Air Force, and Franklin & Marshall come calling.
This will be the second meeting in any sport between Presbyterian and Cal Baptist, following on from a neutral-site volleyball match seven years ago where the Lancers prevailed in Colorado Springs.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
- Under the supervision of fourth-year head coach Derek Moore, Cal Baptist has performed well in tournament settings despite an 0-3 mark in dual play.
- Balancing out losses to #20 Stanford, Utah Valley, and Wyoming, the Lancers had eight placers at the Cyclone Invitational (held at Iowa State) and also placed five more at the Roadrunner Open before Thanksgiving (hosted by Cal State Bakersfield).
- 141-pounder Richie Clementi claimed a championship in that CSU Bakersfield bracket, beating his opponent from Cal Poly via 9-2 decision to take home the trophy.
LAST TIME OUT
- Narrowly falling short of what would have been a huge early season victory in Southern Conference action versus Campbell on the deck of the USS Yorktown battleship last month, PC has been relatively quiet since.
- The multi-time SoCon champion Fighting Camels would only defeat Presbyterian 21-20, barely surviving despite an 8-1 win by heavyweight
Morvens Saint Jean to close the dual.
- Still their only appearance in dual play until Monday, the Blue Hose sent 17 wrestlers to the Mountaineer Open in the aftermath. Saint Jean (285) and
Ryan Luna (141) both came in 3
rd at the event, hosted by Appalachian State.
