FROSTBURG, Md. – Paige Wehrmeister captured her seventh individual title since joining the Presbyterian College women's wrestling program in 2022 and three others snatched bronze for the Blue Hose at the Frostburg Bobcat Open on Saturday afternoon.

In what was the seventh tourney to feature PC during what's been another critically-acclaimed season, Presbyterian sent 12 combatants to the fray in Maryland over the weekend and gathered 33 total wins.

Since the slate started in November, the Scotsmen have now compiled 25 individual championships when in a tournament setting.

Only one of PC's eight nationally-ranked wrestlers suited up on Saturday, a boisterous compliment to a roster that is crammed to the brim with elite-level talent.

Head coach Brian Vutianitis takes his squad back home for the final event of the regular season on February 8, hosting Emory & Henry as they look to add another plus to their dual record of 13-4.


 
NOTABLES
 
- Leading the team in wins as a freshman with five tournament crowns to back it up, Wehrmeister has effectively bounced back from an injury-damaged 2024, hardly breaking a sweat as she sped by four straight foes.

- After a 43-second pin got the Missouri native going, Wehrmeister was practically flawless en route to the gold. She won her final three matches of the tourney by technical fall, combining for a 31-0 differential in those bouts and boosting her personal win count to 26 on the year.

- Lilly Luttrell (145), Isabella Gretzinger (160), and Henlee Haynes (180) were the consolation champs in Frostburg, going 11-3 between them for a trio of 3^rd-place prizes.

- Presbyterian pinned 11 opponents as they offered up another strong effort in multi-team events, positioning them nicely for Southeast Regionals later this month and the national championship tournament in March.
