CLINTON, S.C. – Taking a brief hiatus from the grind of Southern Conference action, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team heads back to Templeton for their next two matches as the 2025 slate comes closer to the finish line.
The Blue Hose will go head-to-head with Truett McConnell of the NAIA ranks, beginning on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. It's the final non-conference outing for head coach
Mark Cody's crew, who was last seen in a respectable defeat to powerhouse Campbell.
While PC's record is less-than-stellar at 1-11 and 0-6 against SoCon schools, they were able to make some positive gains in the loss to the Fighting Camels, going through what would have been just a five-point deficit had it not been for three earlier forfeits.
Wednesday will be the fifth all-time meeting between Presby and TMU, with the Scotsmen holding a perfect mark against the Bears since January of 2020. Their four wins over Truett McConnell have come by an average of 38 points.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- TMU's last four contests have ended with a pair of wins and a pair of losses, beating Montreat twice by 23 and 21 to balance out less-than-desirable results versus Lindsey Wilson and Andrew College.
- That last meeting with Andrew ended at 26-22, making the Bears 3-9 when wrestling away from their home site in Georgia.
- Led by head coach Cody Bond, Truett McConnell has never scored more than seven points in their four matchups with Presbyterian. Their most recent dual in 2024 ended at 44-6, with TMU able to muster two victories in classes 133 and 197 by standard decision.
LAST TIME OUT
- PC's upset bid at Campbell over the weekend may have fallen short, but it was still an encouraging result for a lineup that was bitten hard by injuries and was forced to wrestle just seven competitors instead of the normal ten.
- Junior
Ryan Luna started Presby's push with a 6:24 pin in the third bout of the day, while
Caleb Roe and
Morvens Saint Jean allowed PC to win two of the last three encounters via regular decision.
- When the Blue Hose last faced TMU and promptly pulled out a 38-point whipping, coach Cody's gang recorded two falls, two technical's, and one MD that led to a convincing W.
