LEXINGTON, Va. – The final stop of the 2025 regular season sees the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team head north to VMI for the eighth match of the winter in Southern Conference territory.
While it's been a mostly-bumpy ride for the Blue Hose against their league opponents, head coach
Mark Cody and co. have an opportunity to close the slate on a high note as they pursue their first SoCon victory since 2023.
After falling to Bellarmine at a neutral site by a wide number, PC hopes to cast aside recent misfortunes and acquire what would be their first-ever W against the Keydets in a hostile environment.
The action starts at 7:00 PM tomorrow, the first time in history that Presby will visit Lexington as all four prior meetings in the series were held either in Clinton or a neutral venue.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Blue Hose will catch VMI at a vulnerable time for the opposition, losing four consecutive conference duals after claiming their lone SoCon win against Gardner-Webb 22-20.
- Winning four of the last five matches to erase a 13-0 deficit in that encounter, the Keydets have stumbled since that moment to the tune of zero wins in the month of February.
- Seventh-year head coach Jim Gibson's squad fell to Bellarmine by 22, Campbell by seven, Davidson by five, and most recently a 33-6 stomping at The Citadel's hands.
- After logging three straight W's near Thanksgiving, VMI has ended on the losing side 10 times over their last 11 appearances.
LAST TIME OUT
- Presbyterian has been on opposite ends of the spectrum throughout their last two meets, mauling NAIA foe Truett McConnell 45-0 only to find their next challenge end in a 49-0 loss versus Bellarmine.
- PC is looking to shake their offensive shortcomings as of late, held to single digits in the team score in six of their last eight contests.
- 184-pound junior
Caleb Roe (the same competitor who placed 4
th at the SoCon Championships last March) leads the roster with 10 individual wins on the season and four triumphs against league enemies.
-
Ryan Luna (141) and
Morvens Saint Jean (285) follow closely behind with a combined 15 wins. Last year's meeting against VMI was the most lopsided in the four-match series, as the Keydets came away with a 46-6 decision at Clinton High School.
