Box Score CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (17-29, Big South: 9-12) came up just short in a back-and-forth battle on Wednesday night, falling to Western Carolina (24-24, SoCon: 6-9) by a final score of 5-4 after the Catamounts delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Presbyterian struck first in the opening frame as Rhogue Wallace led off with a single and came around to score following a sacrifice bunt by Trey Fenderson and a throwing error by the Catamounts.
- The Blue Hose added another run in the second inning after a leadoff double from Jackson Hugus, a bunt single by Brody Linker, and a sacrifice fly by Wallace that brought Hugus home.
- PC extended its lead to 3-0 in the fourth as Jake Randolph opened the inning with a double and came around to score on Linker's RBI double down the left field line.
- Western Carolina responded with two sacrifice flies in the fifth to trim the lead to 3-2.
- The Catamounts surged ahead in the sixth, using two hits to plate two runs and take a 4-3 lead.
- Presbyterian evened the score in the seventh as pinch-hitter Cam Mallo singled to right and later scored on a Fenderson RBI single to left after a sacrifice bunt by Wallace moved him into scoring position.
- After a scoreless eighth, Western Carolina sealed the win with back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the ninth.
