BURLINGTON, N.C. – Maddie Peake of the Presbyterian College women's golf team anchored the Blue Hose in the final 18 holes of the Elon Invitational, coming in 16
th place on Tuesday afternoon. PC posted a 12
th-place team finish overall.
Peake birdied thrice in round three (seven times in the tournament altogether), shooting 72 on Tuesday to bring her total score to 219.
Presbyterian finished ahead of both USC Upstate and N.C. Central with a 902 count (+50). The co-champions at Alamance Country Club were Elon (the hosting institution) and James Madison, with both posting 856 scores.
Head coach
Columb Knight's crew has finished two tourneys in the fall schedule, as they'll return to the course near the end of September for the Tot Hill Farm Invitational (held at College of Charleston).
NOTABLES
- Peake was a mere four strokes behind a spot in the top ten, collecting either a par or birdie in 11 of the final 12 holes today.
- Sophomore
Sloane Spessard neared Peake's numbers with a 221 personal score, as she too went for three birdies in round three. Both Spessard and Peake put together a score of 72 over the last round.

Taylor Reaves shot 227 for the second straight tournament, parring six holes in a row at one point to become Presby's third-highest placer.

Gabi Carles represented the rest of PC's five-player party at Elon, going for 235 and 259 respectively.
- Peake (+6) and Spessard (+8) improved upon their marks from the Golfweek Fall Challenge last week, as Radford's McKenzie Weddle was the individual champion with a score of 210.
