CLINTON, S.C. – Helping the Presbyterian College women's soccer team accomplish their first Big South Conference victory of the season on Saturday, freshman midfielder Katelynn Ciolek has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

A starter in all 13 matches during her rookie campaign, Ciolek helped dictate the pace as the Blue Hose edged Longwood at Martin Stadium 1-0.

Presbyterian would break a scoreless tie in the 70^th minute via a penalty kick, only allowing the Lancers two on-target shots after gaining the lead.

Two matches remain for the Blue Hose as they look to scoot their way into the Big South tournament, hosting High Point on Wednesday night in the home finale.






 
STRONG FIRST IMPRESSION

 
- Ciolek has been one of the more underrated performers on head coach Matt Smith's roster, never missing a chance to start and playing nearly 450 minutes against league opponents.

- Overall, Katelynn has spent 979 minutes on the field. That ranks third on the team among true freshmen.

- A native of North Carolina, Ciolek has passed the 80-minute mark on five separate occasions, most notably an 86-minute shift at North Dakota State and USC Upstate.

- She recorded a season-high with three shots versus Gardner-Webb last month, going on to assist in PC's third home win of the year against Longwood by playing close to 60 minutes.


 
LOOKING AHEAD

 
- High Point visits Martin Stadium tomorrow night for a pivotal encounter between two schools who have not yet solidified their tournament status. ESPN+ will be live-streaming the Big South duel.

- After obtaining their third shutout of 2026, Presby will aim to knock off the defending conference champions for the first time in four years.
