Juan Pablo Boada is in his second season at the helm of the program. Presbyterian returns three letterwinners: senior
David Mamalat and sophomores
Daksh Prasad and
Eduardo Valentin. Joining those three returners are newcomers junior
Matija Samardzic, sophomore
Gabriel Godoy, and freshmen
Thomas Anderson,
Victor Mayer, and
Dario Navarro. This fall, Mamalat and Samardzic captured the doubles title at the Big South Individual Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Conference Masters Championship. Every Blue Hose posted singles and doubles wins during the fall's tournament season.
This spring, Valentin leads the Blue Hose with a perfect 3-0 record. Mamalat, Navarro, Prasad, and Samardzic have all recorded two singles wins. The doubles tandem of Mamlat and Samardzic has tallied three wins this spring, including a win over a nationally-ranked doubles team from South Carolina last Friday.
LAST TIME OUT
Presbyterian lost to UNCW, 6-1, on the road last Friday. Valentin picked up a win a straight sets win at number four singles.
BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Presbyterian was picked to finish third in the preseason Big South coaches poll. Longwood was picked to win the Big South title in the preseason poll.
In Presbyterian's men's tennis program's history, the Blue Hose have captured three Big South regular-season titles (2014, 2017, and 2023) and three Big South Tournament titles (2017, 2021, and 2023).
SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford has won the last four meetings between the two teams. The last time PC played Wofford was February 17, 2011. Wofford won a tightly contested match, 4-3, that day.
This season, Wofford has wins over Point Loma, Emmanuel, Converse, The Citadel, and North Greenville. Jack Burdell leads the Terriers with six wins, with five of them coming on court five. The doubles tandem of Julian Bragger-Carlsen and Valdemar Dubin lead the team with four wins.
