PC moves to 7-9 on the year and 0-3 in Big South play. Liberty improves to 6-10 and 1-3 in league action.

The Blue Hose took the doubles point in a dual match that began with singles action due to the threat of rain. Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) also took a singles match against the Flames.

deLoach's win came at the fifth flight against Nicola Wellman. Wellman took the first set, 6-7 (1-7), before deLoach evened the score with a 6-2 second set victory. The Blue Hose then took the match in a tiebreaker, 10-7. The win gives the freshman her 10th singles win of the year, matching Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) for the team lead.

In doubles play, Paige Oelke (Athens, Ga.) and Alves handled Cameron Richard and Brittany Yang at the top flight, 8-5. Lindsay Krause (Roswell, Ga.) and Cara Caruso (Roswell, Ga.) knocked off Jessie Boda and Carol Lobel at No. 3 by the same score.

PC took the doubles point after falling behind as deLoach and Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) dropped their second-flight match to Rebekah Jenkins and Alexandra Sheeran, 8-0.

In the day's other singles matches, Caruso fell to Richard and Alves fell to Jenkins, both by 6-1, 6-2 margins. At No. 1, Oelke stumbled against Sheeran, 6-2, 6-2.

At the third flight, Yang edged Ransom, 6-3, 6-1. Krause also fell to Annisha Domenech at the sixth flight, 6-1, 6-0.

The Blue Hose next host Charleston Southern on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
