BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to Gardner-Webb on Wednesday in Big South Conference action. 

PC drops to 12-7 overall and Gardner-Webb improves to 7-7 on the year. 

The Blue Hose started the day of competition with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles by Sara McBride (Travelers Rest, S.C.) and Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) over Rokia Sacko and Teodora Stanciu, however Gardner-Webb went on to win flights two and three to take the doubles point. 

The Runnin' Bulldogs started singles play with two wins in straight sets at lines five and six as Stanciu beat Madison Utberg (Roswell, Ga.) 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 and Mary Walker Mixon defeated Antonia Conze (Willich, Germany) 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6. 

Sacko also bested Brittany Nuttall (Atlanta, Ga.) 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to give the Runnin' Bulldogs a 4-0 lead over the Blue Hose. 

PC went on to win the next two matches as deLoach beat Sarah Rieckmann 6-4, 6-2 at line three and Claire-Mitchell Andrews (Tampa, Fla.) knocked off Stina Magnusson at line four by the same score. 

Gardner-Webb closed out the match with a win by Catherine White at No. 4 singles against McBride, 1-6, 6-4, 10-2.
