HIGH POINT, N.C. – Presbyterian College baseball fell in both of its Saturday afternoon games at High Point on Saturday afternoon, suffering 10-5 and 17-4 setbacks at Williard Stadium.
PC finishes the series at 22-18 overall and 4-11 Big South. The Blue Hose will host USC Upstate on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the opening game of a four-game homestand to close the team's home schedule. High Point improves to 18-20 on the year and 9-6 in the league play.
Sophomore Tyler Weyenberg (Marietta, Ga.) went 4-for-9 on the day with three RBI. Weyenberg and senior Billy Motroni (Goose Creek, S.C.) each hit their first career home runs as well.
Senior Cam McRae (Darlington, S.C.) extended his reached base streak to 23 straight games.
High Point's Chris Clare and Josh Greene went 5-for-7 on the day. Tony Fortier-Bensen tallied six RBI.
High Point 10, PC 5 (Game One)
The Blue Hose rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to pull ahead in the sixth inning, but the Panthers scored six straight runs en route to a 10-5 victory in the day's opening game.
Down 4-0, Weyenberg (Marietta, Ga.) hit a three-run home run in the fifth—one of his three hits in the game and the first dinger of his career—to pull PC within one run. In the top of the sixth, walks from Cam McRae (Darlington, S.C.) and Jacob Midkiff (Rock Hill, S.C.) brought up Ryan Hedrick (High Point, N.C.) hit a two-out single up the middle to plate both and put PC ahead, 6-5.
Unfortunately for the Blue Hose, the Panthers took the two runs right back in the bottom of the frame on a two-run Carson Jackson single for a 7-6 edge. High Point tacked on two insurance runs in the eighth via double and sacrifice.
High Point plated three over the first two innings to take a 3-0 lead. A Chris Clare leadoff home run in the fourth made it a 4-0 score in favor of the home team.
Hedrick added two hits behind Weyenberg's three. Ethan Wortkoetter (3-3) took the loss.

High Point 17, PC 4 (Game Two)
The second game told a story similar to the first, with PC jumping ahead in the sixth before the Panthers rallied for the win. Freshman Tanner Chock (Loris, S.C.) took the loss to move to 2-2. Freshman Logan Beegle (Catawba, N.C.) threw 1.1 perfect innings over the eighth and ninth inning.
High Point scored 10 runs in the seventh inning.
Motroni led PC with two hits. Six other Blue Hose posted a hit in the second game.
PC began chipping away at a 2-0 High Point lead in the third inning. Peter Johnson (Seattle, Wash.) hit a leadoff single and eventually scored on a wild pitch for a 2-1 score.
Neither team could find the scoreboard until PC broke through again in the sixth. Motroni tied the game on a solo shot to left. PC kept the offense rolling as Jay Lizanich (Greer, S.C.) and McRae hit back-to-back singles to set up Midkiff for a one-run double. A Hedrick walk loaded the bases, but two outs ended the frame before PC could strike again.
High Point added five runs in the sixth and 10 in the seventh—around a Lizanich sacrifice fly—to put the game out of reach, 17-4.
