CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team fell to Liberty, 7-0, on Friday morning at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. The Big South leading Flames remain unbeaten in conference play with the victory.
Liberty swept the three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. The matches on courts one and three were decided by scores of 6-3, while the match on court two went in Liberty's favor, 6-1.
In singles, the Flames claimed all six matches despite a strong effort from the top of the PC lineup. Maria Khval held off Celine Schepers at No. 1, 6-2, 7-5, while Caroline Ferrari forced a tiebreaker in set two but fell to Anna Dollar, 6-0, 7-6 (8-6). Claire-Mitchell Andrews also played a close match at No. 6, falling to Lauren Mabe, 6-4, 6-3.
PC returns to action on Tuesday, March 29 at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. with the start time set for 3 p.m.
