Baseball Set to Host Wofford on Tuesday Night

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Baseball team opens a four-game homestand on Tuesday welcoming in Wofford to the PC Baseball Complex for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

About the Blue Hose
• The Presbyterian College baseball team fell in Saturday's series finale 15-6 against the host Longwood Lancers at Buddy Bolding Stadium. Jeremiah Boyd led the Blue Hose offense on Saturday with two doubles and four RBIs.
• The Presbyterian College baseball team clinched a series win on Friday using 15 hits to defeat Longwood 12-5 at Buddy Bolding Stadium. Brody Fahr and Kyle Decker each collected three hits, while Dalton Reeves connected on a first-inning grand slam.
• Behind an offense that powered a season-high three homers and a career-high nine strikeouts from sophomore Charlie McDaniel, the Presbyterian College baseball team defeated Longwood 7-5 on Thursday night at Buddy Bolding Stadium. Eric Toth and Joel Dragoo paced the offense with three hits apiece in the victory as Jeremiah Boyd, Brody Fahr, and Dalton Reeves each went deep on Thursday.
 
Series History
• PC holds a 17-15 edge over Wofford in the head-to-head series throughout the Blue Hose DI era.
• Wofford has won each of the last two against Presbyterian including an 11-4 decision last February in Clinton.
 
Blue Hose Leaders
Brody Fahr currently leads the Big South with five sacrifice flies on the year.
Eric Toth is third in the league with 36 runs scored and is also fourth in the conference with a team-high 47 hits.
Dalton Reeves is tied for sixth with his team-high 10 doubles.
• With his 14 stolen bases, Jay Wetherington is tied for third in the Big South. Toth along with Kyle Decker are tied for seventh with 11 stolen bases.
Duncan Howard is fourth in the league with a 3.18 ERA and sits in a tie for third with five victories as well.
• Howard is sixth in the conference with 49 strikeouts just ahead of Charlie McDaniel in a tie for seventh with 48 punchouts.
 
Record Chasing
Kyle Decker currently sits fifth in the DI record book with 24 career stolen basees needing just four steals to move into fourth place in the rankings.
• With his next save, Eric Toth will become the school's DI record holder for saves with his 13th of his career.
Duncan Howard and Charlie McDaniel both sit in 10th in school history in wins with eight apiece. Howard and McDaniel's next wins will move them to a tie for seventh.

Brody Fahr is leading the Blue Hose over their last five games with a .533 average (8-of-15) with a double, homer and five runs driven in.
• In PC's last 10 games, Dalton Reeves has driven in a team-high 14 runs with four doubles and two homers.
• In his last three appearances, Tanner Smith has tossed 3.2 scoreless frames with six strikeouts.
• Over his last three starts, Duncan Howard is 2-0 allowing just seven earned runs.
Eric Toth is leading PC in the last 10 games with 16 hits.
 
Scouting the Terriers
• Wofford enters Tuesday's matchup with a 27-9 record including a perfect 6-0 mark in SoCon contests.
• John Dempsey and Brice Martinez both lead the Terriers wiht a .367 average. Dempsey along with Ryan Galanie lead the way with seven homers apiece.
• Lawson Hill has a team-high 11 doubles.
• Wofford is third in DI with 112 stolen bases led by Jack Renwick with 25 and Marshall Toole with 15 on the year.
• Holden Wilder and Luke Stephens both lead the way with a 1.17 ERA. Wilder is 5-0 over 16 appearances and Luke Stephens is 1-1 with just two earned runs allow in 15.1 innings.
 
Ymker Earns Second Straight Relief Pitcher of the Week Award
• Junior Logan Ymker (Sioux Falls, S.D.) has been named the Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week for games played April 4-10, as announced by the league office on Monday.
• Ymker opened the weekend at Morehead State tossing the final two innings of the Blue Hose 11-7 win over the Eagles. He sat down the first five batters he faced on Saturday before a two-out single was his lone blemish. Ymker struck out a season-high five batters to help finish off Saturday's win for the Blue Hose. He pitched in Sunday's series finale at Morehead State recording the final two outs which included his sixth strikeout of the weekend.
• Over his last six appearances, Ymker has allowed two earned runs over 9.2 innings allowing just one walk and totaling 16 strikeouts. The Sioux Falls, S.D. native is limiting batters to .147 opponents batting average as he has recorded a 1.86 earned run average in that stretch.
• Ymker is the first Big South reliever since May of 2019 to win back-to-back weekly awards when Winthrop's Colten Rendon won three straight at the end of the 2019 season.

Blue Hose Long Ball
• PC used the long ball last weekend in Farmville to help propel the Blue Hose to a series win over the Lancers. Dalton Reeves and Jeremiah Boyd both lead the team with four homers as both connected on homers in last weekend's series
Eric Toth and Chase Hughes each have three homers, while Jack Gorman, Chris Veach, Joel Dragoo and Ryan Ouzts have two apiece.
Brody Fahr, Jay Wetherington and Sean Klein have one apiece.
 
Blue Hose in the Minors
• Former Blue Hose pitcher Hayden Deal has began his 2022 season over the weekend tossing eight scoreless innings over three appearances with 11 strikeouts for the Mississippi Braves, the AA Affiliate of the defending champion Atlanta Braves.
• As he begins his fifth year in pro baseball in 2022, Deal is 20-15 with a 3.05 ERA as over 325 innings pitched he has racked up 291 strikeouts. He also added five saves in his minor league career.
