Baseball Preps for Another Weekend at Home

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team is set for another weekend in Clinton where they will face the Le Moyne Dolphins on Friday and Sunday with one against the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
After a successful opening series against Georgetown, the Blue Hose took their first road trip to Elon, NC for a fight against the Phoenix. PC was unable to pick up the win and looks to turn things around this weekend at home.

ABOUT THE BLUE HOSE
- The Blue Hose have taken a 2-2 record so far this season with a pair of wins over Georgetown.
- Senior infielder Eli Lazio had been a key part of Presbyterian's offense with five hits on 10 at bats for a .500 batting average. He has also taken one run, six total bases, and a .500 on base percentage.
- Junior outfielder Amman Dewberry has shown his strength as a power hitter this season with one homer and a triple to claim a .529 slugging percentage.
- On the mound sophomore RHP Tristan McGregor has thrown 6.0 innings where he led the team with a 1.50 ERA and a 1-0 record.
- Sophomore RHP Jacob Fields is the team's leading relief pitcher with no runs or hits allowed while throwing three punches and recording one save.
- The Blue Hose are led by 21st year head coach Elton Pollock.

SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
- Le Moyne opened their season with a four-game series against Tennessee Tech where they were unable to pick up a win.
- Freshman infielder Dominick Russ leads the Dolphins offense with a .333 batting average while posting four hits, two RBIs, and four walks.
- Fifth year RHP Bobby McBride is predicted to start on the mound for game one. He has only thrown in 1.2 innings so far this season where he has allowed no hits or runs and two strikeouts.
- Senior LHP Jacob Crystal is set to open Sunday's game. He has spent 4.1 innings on the bump where he has amassed a 6.23 ERA, one strikeout, and a .278 batting average against.
- Le Moyne is led by 15th year head coach Scott Cassidy.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
- Bowling Green began their season with a series against Middle Tennessee where they went 2-1. The Dolphins will face USC Upstate before they meet PC in Clinton on Saturday.
- Senior infielder Gunner Antillon leads the Falcons offensively with a .462 batting average while taking six hits, two runs, one RBI, and seven total bases.
- Senior LHP Nic Good is projected to start on the mound in Saturday's game. Over his 3.1 innings on the bump this season, he has amassed a 18.90 ERA with three walks and two strikeouts while allowing seven earned runs.
- Bowling Green is led by fifth year head coach Kyle Hallock.

HOLY HOLLISTER
Before the start of the 2025 baseball season, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its 20th annual Preseason Stopper of the Year Watchlist, highlighting 76 of the nation's top relief pitchers. PC senior RHP Sean Hollister earned a place on the prestigious list following his standout performance last season. Hollister made 26 appearances during the 2024 season, logging 42.0 innings on the bump. He recorded 43 strikeouts, notching multiple strikeouts in 12 games. A season highlight came on April 21 against High Point, when he set a career high with five strikeouts. Hollister finished the year with a 2.79 ERA and three saves.

NEWCOMERS JOIN THE BLUE HOSE FAMILY
- Head Coach Elton Pollock stayed busy in the offseason with the addition of 12 new faces to the Blue Hose family.
- The incoming players include freshmen Andrew Albertus, Cam Mallo, Prince Mairena, Matthew Rollison, Brody Linker, JJ Harrell, Layton Hyneman, Michael Marroquin Jr., sophomore Jacob Fields, and juniors Nick Smith, Will Bolinger, and Connor Bradley.

A LOOK AT THE 2025 SLATE
February

- Presbyterian returns home for three games, hosting Le Moyne on Feb. 21 & 23 and Bowling Green on the 22nd.
- A Feb. 25 road game at The Citadel leads into a four-game home series against Eastern Michigan from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2.
 
March
- PC hosts Wofford on March 4 before heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for a series against the Crimson Tide from Mar. 7-9.
- After a home game versus The Citadel on the 11th, the Blue Hose begin Big South Conference play at Winthrop from Mar. 14-16.
- Presbyterian travels to Western Carolina on the 18th, then returns home for a conference series against Gardner-Webb from Mar. 21-23.
- The Blue Hose face Clemson again on the 26th before ending the month with a road series against UNC Asheville from Mar. 28-30.
 
April
- April begins with a road trip to Columbia to face South Carolina on the 1st, followed by a home conference series against Longwood from April 4-6.
- A midweek road game against Georgia on the 8th precedes a weekend off. Presbyterian then hosts Western Carolina on the 15th and travels to Radford for a series from April 17-19.
- On April 22, the Blue Hose visit Chapel Hill to battle North Carolina before closing the month with a home series against Charleston Southern from the 25th-27th.
 
May
- Presbyterian wraps up its home schedule with a series against High Point from May 2-4.
- The regular season concludes with a six-game road stretch: games at Wofford (6th) and Western Carolina (7th), a series at USC Upstate (9th-11th), and a trip to Central Florida (13th).
- The 2025 Big South Conference Tournament will take place at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina, from May 21-24. The six-team event will determine the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
