PC Set for Midweek Road Test at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (4-3) heads to Charleston, South Carolina on Tuesday for a battle with The Citadel Bulldogs (3-4) with a first pitch at 5:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose demolished Le Moyne with a final score of 12-1 to close out their home weekend on Sunday afternoon. Extra-base hits from Brody Linker, Jake Randolph, Cam Mallo, Matthew Rollison, and Evan Cuervo allowed the Blue Hose's offense to thrive while Robbie Boykin and Jacob Fields held down the mound with dominant performances.

ABOUT THE BLUE HOSE
- The Blue Hose have taken a 4-3 record so far this season with wins over Georgetown (x2) and Le Moyne (x2).
- Senior infielder Eli Lazio had been a key part of Presbyterian's offense with a .571 batting average. He has also taken four runs, 17 total bases, and a .591 on base percentage. He has also added one homer and two doubles to his efforts.
- Junior outfielder Amman Dewberry has shown his strength as a power hitter this season with one homer and a triple to claim a .435 slugging percentage.
- On the mound senior RHP Sean Hollister has thrown for a total of 7.1 innings this season where he has punched out six batters while holding a 9.82 ERA.
- Sophomore RHP Jacob Fields is the team's leading relief pitcher with 4.1 innings on the bump. He has amassed an impressive eight strikeouts while holding batters to no runs on no hits. He has also taken a 1-0 record and a save.
- The Blue Hose are led by 21st year head coach Elton Pollock.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- The Citadel has taken a 3-4 mark so far this season with wins over UIC (x2) and Maine.
- Junior catcher Phillips Daniels leads the team with a .400 batting average while taking six hits, seven runs, two RBIs, and a .550 on base percentage.
- Junior outfielder Matthew Lively is the team's best power hitter with a .630 slugging percentage that steams from two dingers and two triples over seven games.
- Senior LHP Fisher Paulsen will start on the mound on Tuesday. Over his 4.0 innings on the mound he has taken a 4.50 ERA with five hits, two runs, and a .313 batting average against.
- The Citadel is led by 1st year head coach Russell Triplett.

HOLY HOLLISTER
Before the start of the 2025 baseball season, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its 20th annual Preseason Stopper of the Year Watchlist, highlighting 76 of the nation's top relief pitchers. PC senior RHP Sean Hollister earned a place on the prestigious list following his standout performance last season. Hollister made 26 appearances during the 2024 season, logging 42.0 innings on the bump. He recorded 43 strikeouts, notching multiple strikeouts in 12 games. A season highlight came on April 21 against High Point, when he set a career high with five strikeouts. Hollister finished the year with a 2.79 ERA and three saves.

NEWCOMERS JOIN THE BLUE HOSE FAMILY
- Head Coach Elton Pollock stayed busy in the offseason with the addition of 12 new faces to the Blue Hose family.
- The incoming players include freshmen Andrew Albertus, Cam Mallo, Prince Mairena, Matthew Rollison, Brody Linker, JJ Harrell, Layton Hyneman, Michael Marroquin Jr., sophomore Jacob Fields, and juniors Nick Smith, Will Bolinger, and Connor Bradley.

A LOOK AT THE 2025 SLATE
February

- A Feb. 25 road game at The Citadel leads into a four-game home series against Eastern Michigan from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2.
 
March
- PC hosts Wofford on March 4 before heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for a series against the Crimson Tide from Mar. 7-9.
- After a home game versus The Citadel on the 11th, the Blue Hose begin Big South Conference play at Winthrop from Mar. 14-16.
- Presbyterian travels to Western Carolina on the 18th, then returns home for a conference series against Gardner-Webb from Mar. 21-23.
- The Blue Hose face Clemson again on the 26th before ending the month with a road series against UNC Asheville from Mar. 28-30.
 
April
- April begins with a road trip to Columbia to face South Carolina on the 1st, followed by a home conference series against Longwood from April 4-6.
- A midweek road game against Georgia on the 8th precedes a weekend off. Presbyterian then hosts Western Carolina on the 15th and travels to Radford for a series from April 17-19.
- On April 22, the Blue Hose visit Chapel Hill to battle North Carolina before closing the month with a home series against Charleston Southern from the 25th-27th.
 
May
- Presbyterian wraps up its home schedule with a series against High Point from May 2-4.
- The regular season concludes with a six-game road stretch: games at Wofford (6th) and Western Carolina (7th), a series at USC Upstate (9th-11th), and a trip to Central Florida (13th).
- The 2025 Big South Conference Tournament will take place at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina, from May 21-24. The six-team event will determine the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
