Box Score CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (9-13, Big South: 1-2) came up short in its first of three matchups against Western Carolina (10-11, SoCon: 0-0), falling 4-2 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose struck first, opening the game with back-to-back doubles from Jake Randolph and Amman Dewberry to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Western Carolina responded quickly in the bottom of the inning, plating three runs to move ahead 3-1.
- The Catamounts added another run in the second before both teams went scoreless over the next three frames.
- In the sixth, Randolph led off with a single through the left side, but was later erased on a fielder's choice that put Dewberry on base. Moments later, Nick Smith ripped a double to left center, bringing Dewberry home and cutting the deficit to 4-2.
- The final three innings remained quiet, as the Catamounts held on for the 4-2 victory.

- Randolph recorded his third double of the season in the first inning and finished 3-for-4 at the plate.
- Dewberry notched his fourth double of the year in the opening frame.
- Smith registered his first double as a Blue Hose with his RBI hit in the sixth.
