CORALVILLE, Iowa – Tying for the second-highest number of national qualifiers among the 62 universities on-hand, the sixth-ranked Presbyterian College women's wrestling team continues their pursuit of a National Championship by advancing eight competitors to day two of the NCWWC tournament and earning three All-Americans.

Of the 14 wrestlers representing the Blue Hose and Southeast Region Coach of the Year Brian Vutianitis, the following have extended their stay in Iowa as the postseason bracket dwindles:

Wehrmeister, Cuyler, and Aiono have already solidified their status as NCWWC All-Americans by going 3-0 on Friday, each just two victories away from hoisting the ultimate prize and winning an individual National Championship.

As an overall unit, the Blue Hose are still in the hunt for a team National Championship alongside the likes of Iowa, King, McKendree, and North Central, aiming to finish in the countrywide top ten for the third consecutive season while doubling the school record for most National Qualifiers.

Already claiming the regional title for the first time in school history, PC is hungry for more hardware in the Midwest after scattering 27 total wins during the first half of the National Championship tourney.


 
ALL-AMERICANS APLENTY
 
- A powerhouse in the sport, Presbyterian has now garnered at least nine All-Americans in just the last three seasons. That number has the potential to grow even larger on Saturday morning, with the group of five remaining wrestlers in the consolation round still able to call themselves an All-American should they win another match.

- Six of those All-Americans since 2023 achieved that honor while being a freshman, something that Aiono and Cuyler accomplished on Friday.

- Finishing third in the nation as a rookie two years ago, but sidelined last March due to injury, Wehrmeister has yet again ascended to All-America heights by defeating Iowa's Nanea Estrella in the National Quarterfinals 8-7.

- Cuyler will go into the final day of the season on Saturday with a personal record of 26-2, beating all three of her opponents at Nationals by pin to this point.

- Aiono has now reached a win count of 27 before her first year at the collegiate level is fully finished, upsetting fourth-seeded Traeh Haynes of North Central in the opening round and carrying that momentum into the round of four.

- Dearwester, Mahan, Giangeruso, Kubicki, and Haynes can all join the group of All-Americans with another W in day two of Nationals, as Presbyterian's quest for a team title rolls onward.
