COACH POLLOCK
Head coach Elton Pollock enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Blue Hose. In 2025, Coach Pollock guided a young roster through one of the toughest non-conference schedules to date, earning a key win over No. 23 Alabama, halting their undefeated season.
BLUE HOSE NOTES
- Presbyterian split its first series of the season this past weekend, defeating Akron in two games on Friday (Feb. 13) before dropping the final two games of the set on Saturday (Feb. 14)
- Emory Guilford had a monster first two games for the Blue Hose, hitting game-winning home runs in both games. In the first game of Friday's doubleheader against Akron, Guilford crushed a three-run walk-off home run with PC trailing 6-5 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the night cap, he broke a 5-5 tie in the seventh inning, helping PC secure another 8-6 win over the Zips.
- Amman Dewberry delivered a strong performance on opening weekend, going 7-of-17 at the plate with a home run and seven runs batted in. He went a perfect 4-for-4 in PC's first game on Friday afternoon. He followed it up with another multi-hit game in the second game. On Saturday, Dewberry hit his first home run of the season, a two-run rocket.
- Freshman Jonathan Williams hit the first home run of his collegiate career in the first inning of PC's second game on Friday.
- Matthew Rollison had a strong start to his sophomore campaign, going 6-of-10 at the plate.
- Freshman Bo Moody started his collegiate career with a bang, recording four hits in 10 at-bats.
- Mikah Conner smashed a grand slam in PC's first game on Saturday, the second home run of his career.
- Bauer Burkart recorded his first collegiate win, pitching 2.1 innings strong out of the bullpen in PC's season opener on Friday. He now allowed only one hit and struck out three.
- On the mound, Tyrell Williams, Kyle Mueller, Christian Charalambous, and Tristan McGregor made their first starts of the season.
- Braiden Eagen earned the save in PC's victory over Akron on Friday night.
BACK FOR MORE
Tyrell Williams powers the Blue Hose on the mound, returning after a strong freshman campaign. He was named to the Big South Preseason All-Conference Team this season. Last year, he made the Big South All-Freshman Team, emerging as Presbyterian's Friday night starter. In the Big South, he made 15 appearances, including seven starts, and posted a 3-2 record with a 4.53 ERA. In league play, he allowed just 26 earned runs over 51.2 innings, giving up only 52 hits (tied for the fewest among Big South pitchers). He held opponents to a .265 batting average, also among the top five in the league, and limited hitters to just three home runs all season, the fewest allowed by any qualifying pitcher in the conference.
INCOMING TRANSFERS
Head coach Elton Pollock added eight transfers to this year's squad. James Green, Sammy Vander Hill, Caden Mason, Bauer Burkart, Emory Guilford, Ian Lindsay, Braiden Eagen, and Matthew Cannon are the new transfer additions for the Blue House
Mason played two seasons at Coastal Alabama CC South, totaling a .304 career batting average. He was named to the NJCAA 2nd-Team as a catcher in 2025. Green hit .317 and hit 21 home runs in two seasons playing at Louisburg CC. He was named 2nd Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Region at Louisburg.
NEW FRESHMAN
Nine freshmen join the Blue Hose this season. Domaine Vann, Bo Moody, Tucker Meredith, Jonathan Williams, Cole Morgan, Landon Nichols, Nathan Sofield, Jayden Adams, and Aidan Taylor join Coach Pollock's squad as incoming freshmen.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
- Since PC became a D1 program in 2007, the two teams have only met once, squaring off last season. Elon took that matchup 16-3 in Clinton.
- Elon swept Delaware in a three-game series at home to start the season this weekend.
- Vince Fattore shined offensively for the Phoenix, going 4-for-5 with four extra-base hits over the three games to earn CAA Baseball Player of the Week.
- Brian Strange led the Phoenix on the mound, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings for Elon.
- Head coach Mike Kennedy is in his 29th season as the leader of Elon baseball.
