BLUE HOSE NOTES
- Presbyterian dropped its midweek game to Elon on Tuesday (Feb. 17) on the road, falling in a tight 6-4 contest.
- Amman Dewberry hit his second homer of the season in the top of the first inning against the Phoenix. Sammy Vander Hill started on the mound, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings of two-hit ball. Holden Baker crushed a two-run double in the seventh inning as well for the Blue Hose.
- Matthew Rollison has had a very productive start to his sophomore season, ranking fourth in the conference in batting average (.462). He is 6-for-13 at the plate, scoring three runs.
- Vander Hill has yet to allow a run this season, pitching a total of 4.2 innings in two appearances for the Blue Hose. He has only given up three hits as well.
- Bo Moody is third on the team in hitting in his freshman season, batting .333 (4-of-12).
- Jeremiah Hampton has thrown 2.1 scoreless innings so far this season for PC out of the bullpen.
DEWBERRY DOING THINGS
Dewberry has been on fire to to start the year, for PC, leading the team with nine hits. He is 9-for-20 at the plate with two home runs and eight RBIs in five games. He leads the Big South in total bases with 17. He ranks fourth in the league as well in hits, slugging percentage (.850), and OPS (1.326).
HOME RUN KINGS
As a team, the Blue Hose lead the conference in home runs with six to start the year. Dewberry and Emory Guilford each have two apiece for the Blue Hose. Jonathan Williams and Mikah Conner have also homered this season for Presbyterian.
BACK FOR MORE
Tyrell Williams powers the Blue Hose on the mound, returning after a strong freshman campaign. He was named to the Big South Preseason All-Conference Team this season. Last year, he made the Big South All-Freshman Team, emerging as Presbyterian's Friday night starter. In the Big South, he made 15 appearances, including seven starts, and posted a 3-2 record with a 4.53 ERA. In league play, he allowed just 26 earned runs over 51.2 innings, giving up only 52 hits (tied for the fewest among Big South pitchers). He held opponents to a .265 batting average, also among the top five in the league, and limited hitters to just three home runs all season, the fewest allowed by any qualifying pitcher in the conference.
INCOMING TRANSFERS
Head coach Elton Pollock added eight transfers to this year's squad. James Green, Sammy Vander Hill, Caden Mason, Bauer Burkart, Emory Guilford, Ian Lindsay, Braiden Eagen, and Matthew Cannon are the new transfer additions for the Blue Hose.
NEW FRESHMAN
Nine freshmen join the Blue Hose this season. Domaine Vann, Bo Moody, Tucker Meredith, Jonathan Williams, Cole Morgan, Landon Nichols, Nathan Sofield, Jayden Adams, and Aidan Taylor join Coach Pollock's squad as incoming freshmen.
COACH POLLOCK
Head coach Elton Pollock enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Blue Hose. In 2025, Coach Pollock guided a young roster through one of the toughest non-conference schedules to date, earning a key win over No. 23 Alabama, halting their undefeated season.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
- The Blue Hose lead the all-time series with NJIT 5-1. The two teams played three-game sets in 2012 and in 2013. The Blue Hose took all three meetings in Clinton in 2012.
- NJIT dropped its first three games of the season last weekend at Longwood. The Highlanders went to 15 innings with the Lancers in game two of their series, falling 3-2.
- Austin Francis led NJIT offensively last weekend, going 5-of-12 at the plate.
- Robbie McClellan leads the Highlanders in his eighth season as head coach.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
- The Huskies are 2-2 to open the season, winning two out of three at North Carolina A&T before falling to East Carolina 11-5 on the road on Wednesday.
- Danny Cihocki and Carter Cox lead Northern Illinois on the mound with 1.80 ERAs apiece.
- Head coach Ryan Copeland enters his third season with the Huskies.
SCOUTING THE BEACONS
- This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
- Valparaiso is 1-3 to start the year. The Beacons faced Gardner-Webb on the road, suffering defeats in three out of four.
- Cal Schembra powers the Beacon offense with a .500 offense to begin 2026. He is 7-of-14 at the plate with a home run.
- Brian Schmack leads Valpo as the head coach in his 13th season.
2026 SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN

The Blue Hose campaign will feature 24 games at Elton Pollock Field at the PC Baseball Complex, highlighted by four series against Big South opponents UNC Asheville (March 13-15), Winthrop (April 10-12), Radford (April 24-26), and USC Upstate (May 8-10).
Presbyterian will take on three SEC opponents on the road during the season: Georgia (April 7), South Carolina (April 21), and Tennessee (May 5). The Blue Hose will also travel to face ACC foe Clemson on Feb. 24. Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson are all ranked in the top 20 of the first edition of this season's D1Baseball Top 25.
