Charalambous Named Big South Co-Starting Pitcher of the Week

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College redshirt sophomore Christian Charalambous has been named Big South Co-Starting Pitcher of the Week in honors announced Monday (March 16) by the conference.

Charalambous turned in the best performance of his collegiate career on Saturday afternoon (March 14) against UNC Asheville, throwing a complete game shutout to help the Blue Hose defeat the Bulldogs 11-0 in conference action at home.

Charalambous went all nine innings on the mound, allowing just four hits while punching out seven. His nine innings pitched and seven strikeouts against the Bulldogs are both career-highs.

His complete game shutout is the first PC complete game shutout since Brian Kehner accomplished the feat on March 17, 2017 against Army.

This is the first weekly Big South honor for Presbyterian this season. Charalambous is the first starting pitcher to nab the award for the Blue Hose since Daniel Eagen in 2024.
