BLUE HOSE NOTES
- Presbyterian hosted USC Upstate this past weekend, suffering two defeats after claiming the series opener.
- On Friday night (May 8), the Blue Hose completed a four-run comeback in the eighth and ninth innings, walking off the Spartans to win 6-5. Layton Hyneman brought around the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice bunt to first base, scoring Aidan Taylor.
- Friday's victory was PC's third walk-off win of the year.
- Bo Moody and Matthew Rollison lead Presbyterian in batting average. Moody paces the team, hitting .304. Rollison is right behind, batting .301.
- James Green has had a very productive first year at PC. He is third on the team in batting average, hitting .301. He is tied with Moody for the team lead in stolen bases (14). His 14 stolen bases are tied for tenth in the Big South.
- Emory Guilford has also been terrific this season for the Blue Hose. He owns a .292 average, leading the Blue Hose in hits (52), doubles (13), and total bases (89). He is also tied for the team lead in RBIs (34) and triples (3).
- Amman Dewberry powers PC with a team-leading 10 home runs on the year. He is tied with Guilford for the most RBIs on the team (34). His 10 homers rank tied for seventh in the conference.
- On the mound, Tyrell Williams leads Presbyterian in innings pitched with 65.1. Charalambous and Tristan McGregor have also exceeded the 40-inning mark.
- Williams leads the team in strikeouts this season with 49. Charalambous and McGregor are right behind with 44 and 38, respectively.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
Bo Moody has been one of the most productive freshmen in the Big South this season. He has been named Big South Freshman of the Week twice (March 23, April 6) and leads the team with 16 multi-hit games. He leads the team in batting average (.304), runs scored (37), on-base percentage (.426), walks (23), and stolen bases (tied with Green at 14).

BROOKS WALLACE AWARD SEMIFINALIST
Bo Moody was named a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award as announced by the College Baseball Foundation on April 22. The award honors the nation's top shortstop and will be presented by the CBF later this year. Moody was named as one of 50 of the nation's best shortstops, selected based on both offensive and defensive production this season. Moody is one of two shortstops recognized from the Big South, the other being High Point's Willie Ponce. He is also one of only two freshmen to earn this prestigious honor. Linkin Garcia from Texas Tech is the only other freshman to be named a semifinalist.

RECORD-BREAKING ROLLISON
Matthew Rollison delivered a record-breaking performance at Charleston Southern on April 4. Against the Buccaneers, he homered three times, tying the PC Division 1 single-game home run record, joining Andrew Williams and Brad Zebedis in 2012. He finished the game 3-for-5 with seven RBIs. His seven RBIs are tied for the second most by a PC player in a single game in the D1 era. Only Nick Wise had more, logging eight at UNC Asheville in 2018. Rollison was named Big South Player of the Week for his performance on April 6. He was also named to Baseball America's National Team of the Week. On the season, he leads the team in OPS (.878), slugging percentage (.533), and triples (3). He is tied for second in the Big South in triples and ranks ninth in slugging percentage.

COMPLETE GAME PITCHING
The Blue Hose threw back-to-back complete games in PC's first conference series of the year against UNC Asheville. On March 14, Christian Charalambous threw a complete game shutout, going all nine innings. He allowed just four hits and struck out seven. His complete game shutout is the first PC complete game shutout since Brian Kehner on March 17, 2017 against Army. Tristan McGregor followed with PC's second complete game in as many days on March 15, pitching all seven innings while punching out 11 (both career-highs).

INCOMING TRANSFERS
Head coach Elton Pollock added eight transfers to this year's squad. James Green, Sammy Vander Hill, Caden Mason, Bauer Burkart, Emory Guilford, Ian Lindsay, Braiden Eagen, and Matthew Cannon are the new transfer additions for the Blue Hose.

NEW FRESHMEN
Nine freshmen join the Blue Hose this season. Domaine Vann, Bo Moody, Tucker Meredith, Jonathan Williams, Cole Morgan, Landon Nichols, Nathan Sofield, Jayden Adams, and Aidan Taylor join Coach Pollock's squad as incoming freshmen.

COACH POLLOCK
Head coach Elton Pollock enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Blue Hose. In 2025, Coach Pollock guided a young roster through one of the toughest non-conference schedules to date, earning a key win over No. 23 Alabama, halting their undefeated season.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- Western Carolina has the advantage in the all-time series with Presbyterian, holding a 9-5 record since PC became a Division I program in 2008.
- The Blue Hose snapped a five-game win streak in the series on March 31, defeating the Catamounts 6-5 on the road.
- Western Carolina comes into Tuesday's meeting with a 32-20 overall record. The Catamounts sit in first place in the SoCon, boasting a 12-6 league record. This past weekend, Western Carolina dropped three road contests to Wake Forest.
- As a team, the Catamounts are hitting .280 and have hit 76 home runs. On the mound, Western Carolina owns a 5.65 ERA.
- Head coach Alan Beck leads the Catamounts in his fourth season.
