CLINTON, S.C. – The owner of a current 13-match winning streak following a freshman All-American season last spring, Maddie Kubicki of the sixth-ranked Presbyterian College women's wrestling team has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

A sophomore from Kansas City, Missouri, Kubicki has not tasted defeat in 46 days and counting, displaying a 16-2 personal record this year. In less than two full seasons, the 160-pounder has racked up 48 overall wins.

Last weekend in Albany, the Blue Hose faced four straight top-20 opponents at the NYS Journeymen Duals, among them undefeated #1 Iowa. Kubicki defeated all of her combatants handily, posting two 10-0 technical's and a 2:03 pin.

With another month still remaining on the campaign, the second-year stud has already scattered 10 falls and five TF's. She's accomplished those numbers despite an early-season injury that cost her nearly a full month.

Kubicki is one of eight wrestlers on head coach Brian Vutianitis' roster to be ranked inside the top-10 of their respective weight class, polled at number six in class 160.




 
LOOKING AHEAD
 
- Presbyterian has entered the last stage of the regular season, with just one tournament and one dual left until the Southeast Regional bracket.

- They'll return to the mats this weekend for a Frostburg State Invitational in Maryland, beginning at 9:00 AM. In five earlier tourneys this year, the Blue Hose have garnered 24 individual championships.

- PC's regular-season finale will occur on the following Saturday, hosting Emory & Henry on February 8 in their final appearance at Templeton Gymnasium this semester.


 
GAME ONE
 
- In November of 2022, the Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One (an official team dealer for Adidas) on a multi-year apparel agreement. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas, which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.

- Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
