CLINTON, S.C. – Rising up the ranks as one of the most promising talents on the roster, junior Ryan Luna of the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

Six days ago, Luna helped position the Blue Hose to their first victory of the season over NAIA opponent St. Andrews, gathering his second pin of the winter in under three minutes to grant his crew an eight-point advantage in the early stages.

Win number five for the Californian this year in what was Presby's first dual in over seven weeks, Luna's fall started a match-closing 40-6 run for the Scotsmen in what eventually amounted to a 45-9 W in Templeton Gymnasium.

This was not Luna's first dual win of the campaign, as he also had his hand raised in the season-opener back in November versus Sacred Heart in another Clinton encounter.

Wrestling anywhere between classes 133 and 149 to prove his versatility, Ryan currently ties heavyweight Morvens Saint Jean for the second-highest win count on head coach Mark Cody's roster (Caleb Roe leads all grapplers with six.)




 
AIR FORCE ON THE HORIZON
 
Luna and co. will await an exciting non-conference meeting on Friday morning in Templeton, hosting Air Force all the way from Colorado for a first-time-ever affair.

The action will start at 11:00 AM as the Blue Hose go head-to-head with a Falcons foe who just tangled with South Dakota State and North Dakota State last weekend.

Following the Air Force outing, Presbyterian will venture back to Southern Conference territory on Sunday when battling in-state rival The Citadel at 1:00 PM, also at home.


 
GAME ONE
 
In November of 2022, the Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One (an official team dealer for Adidas) on a multi-year apparel agreement. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas, which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.

Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
