CLINTON, S.C. – The hottest hitter for the Presbyterian College softball team throughout opening weekend, senior outfielder Morgan Farthing has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

Farthing – a native of Pennsylvania – batted fifth in the lineup for the majority of the Blue Hose Invitational and hit a team-best .455 during contests with Le Moyne, Western Michigan, Dayton, and Morehead State.

Helping PC to a 2-2 record and a couple of one-run victories, she ended the first tournament of the semester with a .636 slugging percentage and seven total bases in 11 plate appearances.






 
LEADING THE WAY

 
- Farthing had at least one hit in all four games from Friday to Sunday, landing an RBI single against WMU and an RBI triple in the 2^nd inning of the win over Morehead.

- That extra-base swing versus the Eagles was a key play when considering the final score of 3-2. After batting in the first run of the game there, she scored the second run herself in the team's next at-bat.

- One of six seniors for head coach David Williams' roster, Farthing posted a .455 on-base ratio in those four games and also successfully stole two bases. She had the third-highest BA on the club as a junior last year (.283).


 
LOOKING AHEAD

 
- The Blue Hose have the luxury of ten straight home games to start the 2026 slate, meaning that they will host another tournament this coming weekend.

- PC is scheduled to play twice on Friday and Saturday, along with one more outing on Sunday. They'll face off with Mercyhurst and ETSU twice each, with an additional contest against UAlbany in the mix as well.

- The Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One – an official team dealer for Adidas – on a multi-year apparel agreement in November of 2022. PC's partnership with Adidas began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
