CLINTON, S.C. – Aiding her squad to their third Big South Conference victory of the season with a pitching performance that ranks among her very best, sophomore Peyton Duncan of the Presbyterian College softball team was selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

Limiting Longwood to just one hit in the first six innings during her 14^th career start, Duncan came inches away from her first shutout of 2024 in a 6-1 W on Saturday. Prior to that, the second-year rising star threw against Mercer for a weekly total of 11.1 innings.

She put together an ERA of 0.79 over her last three appearances, steadily becoming one of the most reliable twirlers on head coach David Williams' roster.



Hailing from Tabor City, North Carolina, Peyton scooped up her ninth career win against the Lancers in a hostile environment, combining for six strikeouts versus her two opponents this week.

Duncan conceded only one earned run over the weekend, which in itself came when the contest had already been wrestled in PC's favor. She threw over 100 pitches twice this week, recording 20 of 21 outs in the Virginia triumph.

Longwood was forced into a 1-2-3 inning four times while Duncan kept turning them away, nearly pulling off her third complete game of the semester.

Altogether, Peyton has pitched 58.1 frames since February, retiring 41 batters (including a season-best seven against Morehead State). The win in Farmville registered as PC's third this spring within a true road setting.

Presbyterian won't have to worry about any more visiting designations for a while, however, hosting their next eight bouts over a 10-day period. That stretch begins on Wednesday when the Blue Hose welcome South Carolina State for a 3:00 PM doubleheader on ESPN+.

The Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One on a multi-year apparel agreement in November of 2022 as an official team dealer for Adidas. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
