CLINTON, S.C. – Redshirt sophomore outfielder Emory Guilford of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team has been selected as this week's Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
Guilford had a monster opening weekend for the Blue Hose against Akron, hitting game-winning home runs in both of PC's first two games of the season. In the season opener on Friday afternoon (Feb. 13), he crushed a walk-off three-run homer with PC trailing 6-5 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, helping Presbyterian complete a dramatic 8-6 comeback victory over the Zips. Guilford went 3-for-4 at the plate for the game, recording three RBIs and scoring two runs.
Later in the day, Guilford delivered in the clutch yet again for the Blue Hose, breaking a 5-5 tie in the seventh inning with a go-ahead two-run home run. The homer proved to be decisive, as PC finished off the Zips with another 8-6 victory.
Guilford was one of three players in the Big South to hit multiple home runs on opening weekend.
Game One
In November 2022, the Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One on a multi-year apparel agreement as an official team dealer for Adidas. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas, which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
