CLINTON, S.C. – Freshman Roxy Valdés of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's tennis team has been selected as this week's Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
Valdés had a monster week for the Blue Hose, going undefeated in her three singles matches. On Thursday, she picked up a massive come-from-behind three-set victory over Paula Alvarez of NJIT on court two, helping PC rally to defeat the Highlanders 4-3 in a thriller in Clinton.
She followed that win with her debut on the top singles court on Saturday and Sunday, cruising to back-to-back straight-set victories against opponents from NC Central and UNC Greensboro. Valdes now boasts an undefeated 2-0 singles record playing on the top court.
She also tallied a doubles win on Sunday with partner Ladina Bruhin against the Spartans, posting a 6-0 win on court three.
Game One
In November 2022, the Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One on a multi-year apparel agreement as an official team dealer for Adidas. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas, which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
