CLINTON, S.C. – Finishing the regular season tied for the second-most goals in a single year over the entire program's history, sophomore striker
Emily Currie of the Presbyterian College lacrosse team has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
Currie produced four goals in a four-point victory over Winthrop last Wednesday, the final home appearance for the Blue Hose in 2026. She followed that up with two more makes in the season's closer at High Point.
The Maryland native topped out at 42 connections in only her second year as a collegian, matching
Willow Hammond for the second-highest goal count in a singular season of any Presbyterian player (Hammond achieved that same number just last spring).
Although PC narrowly missed a bid to the Big South Tournament on account of an RPI differential of just six points, Currie headlines a promising group of returners that have a bright future ahead.
CURRIE WAS COOKING
- In just two seasons under head coach
Eric Clakeley's tutelage, Currie has collected 77 total goals. Her 42 hits this year are the fourth-most in the Big South, scoring 20 times in the last six games.
- She added nine assists to her lethal offensive numbers, giving her 51 points altogether. Averaging nearly three goals per match, she successfully scored on 72 percent of her on-target attempts.
- Currie's goal numbers were evenly split at 21 apiece in non-conference and Big South action, also ranking second on the roster with 23 draw controls.
- Two season-highs were achieved on the same day for Currie in a comeback win over Manhattan at Bailey Memorial Stadium, getting six goals and four draws including the game-winner with 23 second on the clock.
- PC's most exciting moment of 2026 came on Currie's heroics, nailing a sudden-death double-overtime goal at Gardner-Webb which was her fifth score of the night.
- She manufactured a minimum of three goals on six separate dates, with four of those instances against league foes. Six of her 42 scores were in a free-position opportunity, adding 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
GAME ONE
- The Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One – an official team dealer for Adidas – on a multi-year apparel agreement in November of 2022. PC's partnership with Adidas began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
- Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
